In 1886 the Fouilloy Frères company was created in Paris, specialising in the manufacturing of buckles, clips for braces, buttons and various metal accessories for leatherwork and the clothes and footwear industries.

In the 1940’s, under the impulsion of Mr Roger Fouilloy, son of one ofthe the company’s founders, the company developed rapidly and created a manufacturing subsidiary in Burgundy at Saint Julien du Sault (Yonne), L’Acier Poli de Saint Julien, in the former premises of a military button maker ofthe First French Empire.

This factory, which now covers more than 5000 m2, enables the group to satisty the demands of its rapid growth and especially to master in-house all the manufacturing stages including cutting, polishing, fixing, surface treatment, etc...

Over the following decades the L’Acier Poli-Fouilloy Frères group quickly became a leader in the area of brace clips and buckles, thanks to the quality of its products, and later in the leatherwork and clothes sectors, once again for top ofthe range products.

Progressively, the company has become the preferred supplier ofthe most well known brands and a standard in the area of metal accessories for the fashion world.

In 1996, Fouilloy Frères was absorbed by L’Acier Poli and has been managed since l982 by Mr. Bemard FOUILLOY who succeeded his father at the head ofthe company

With more than 60 staff, l’Acier Poli is now present in more than 30 countries in Europe, Asia and North America and on average direct exports represent 30% of production, with the company enjoying the confidence of several hundred manufacturers.

Anned with more than a century of industrial experience and recognised know-how , l’Acier Poli has managed to blend harmoniously modem techniques and traditional craftsmanship.

The technical manufacturing department of prototypes and samples, the drum polishing units and the automated surface treatment production line, which offer a special degree of quality and which have contributed to the reputation ofthe company are only some ofthe strong points which explain the success of the products of l’Acier Poli.
